Australia Education Expo: Over a dozen major state varsities set up stalls for Pakistani students

The second day of the two-day Australia Education Expo at Serena Hotel on Thursday presented the twin cities’ students with an opportunity to discuss and explore their future higher education options.
Over a dozen major Australian state universities had set up stalls for visitors detailing information on courses and scholarships offered, required language tests, visa processing procedures and career counselling.
Over 8,000 Pakistani students are admitted to Australian institutions every year.
Visitors were particularly interested in finding out about part-time job opportunities which could earn them extra income during the course of their studies in Australia.
Many students had arrived with their documents and passports in anticipation of being interviewed for selection.
“I was fully prepared to be interviewed today but the process has not started yet,” said a business administration student who had travelled all the way from Swat to attend the event.
All university representatives were very helpful in assisting the students and providing comprehensive answers to their questions, he added.
Charles Darwin University, Curtin University, Deakin University, La Trobe University, Macquarie University, Melbourne Institute of Business and Technology, Melbourne Institute of Technology, University of Ballarat, University of Queensland and University of Southern Queensland were among the varsities present at the event.
